"The Laughing Heart" Response

My response towards ,"The Laughing Heart", by Charles Bukowski is that there is so much more to life than you expect. You can't be letting other people bring you down or make you feel horrible. You decide what your life is like, not others. Bukowski is trying to inspire people with this poem, he wants people to know that there is a meaning to life. In the poem he says," it may not be much light, but it beats the darkness", in a way to show that holding on to something is better than holding on to nothing. The more you try new things and explore new ideas, the more success there will be for you. I feel like this poem has a deeper meaning to it and is supposed to be interpreted in so many different ways by people.  This poem can inspire a lot of people, especially the lonely and suffering ones.
